Vacations & Holidays

There is not a soul on this planet that would not enjoy a vacation. Just hearing that word uttered by anyone around you is enough to bring a smile to our face and sends us deep into thought about the many awesome vacations we have been on. Most of lead quite a monotonous life, with our nine to five jobs everyday. We wake up, go to office where we are at our desk all day, then go home, spend some time with our family and go to sleep. This is a routine we follow five out of the even days of the week. This sort of a routine can turn the biggest workaholic and make him crave for a vacation.

Vacations however, are not like they used to be. Like everything else even vacations have changed. Today, everyone is always on a strict time schedule. You always have somewhere to get to or some work to get done. People no longer have the liberty of extending their vacations as long as they please. If they do, they probably will not have a job by the time they get back. People are a lot more time bound, and as a result we even try and plan every day of our vacation. Nobody can just spend a day not doing anything, it would seem like you wasted the entire day. Hence, we try and cram as many activities into everyday of our vacation. We try and visit as many spots and sights possible in order to make the most of our vacation. And according to me, by doing this we are missing the whole point of a holiday. The objective of a vacation is to just take it easy and put our feet up. By doing this we hope to be fresh and rejuvenated when we are back at our desks in office and running around all day just to have enough pictures for the vacation album is quite absurd. So what if our vacation album has only a couple of pictures of you laying on a sun bed?

So try and take it easy when on vacation. We are blessed to be born in the subcontinent of India and have a myriad of beautiful destinations to choose from. You can choose between, sandy beaches, intimidating mountain ranges and the mighty dessert to name a few. There are several cheap holiday packages offered by several travel agencies for the budget conscious buyer. So go cash in those paid leaves and set out on an adventure and not just a vacation.

Kevin Hart Is Back For Another International Standup Comedy Tour

Standup comedy has been increasing in popularity lately, and Kevin Hart is largely responsible for this heightened popularity! His upcoming international tour throughout the United States and the United Kingdom kicks off this month and runs all of the way through the Summer! Kevin Hart will make appearances in locations like Tampa (3/04/2011) and Miami, FL (3/5/2011 – 3/6/2011), Minneapolis (3/12/2011) and Grand Rapids, MN (3/11/2011), and Richmond, VA (3/18/2011), Las Vegas, NV (4/8/2011), Indianapolis, IN (5/25/2001), with many, many more not included here! It is our goal in writing this to clue you in on how to find all of the locations and times for the upcoming Kevin Hart performances, as well as hints on how to find cheap and affordable Kevin Hart tickets online.

Kevin Hart got his start in the great city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, his hometown. He started touring Philadelphia’s local touring circuit in the late 1990s, showing real talent as a standup comedian and catching the attention of The Fox Network in 2001, offering Kevin Hart a role as a religious student in the television series Undeclared. His dynamite performance and comedic genius landed him a national platform and helped him move away from his local touring in Philadelphia to a much broader touring circuit. This eventually led to Kevin Hart being cast for Blockbuster movies like Scary Movie 3, Epic Movie, The 40 Year Old Virgin, Little Fockers and Superhero Movie. These appearances only enriched his fan base across America, giving Kevin Hart the chance to become a national icon in standup comedy. Graduating from George Washington High School and attending Temple University, Kevin Hart quickly realized his potential as a standup comedian through his increasing popularity among his peers and the crowds that forever poured into his small public performances. Marrying Torrei Hart, also a nationally recognized standup comedian, was the start of something spectacular! Kevin Hart began working his family into his act, bringing up his Daughter, Heaven Leigh, while performing in the Box Office hit The 40 Year Old Virgin, saying that he did not want her to enter the stripping profession. Kevin Hart also has a son, Hendrix.

A family man, an award winning standup comedian, there is no wonder Kevin Hart has become so popular! This is why his tickets always seem to sell out so quickly and, in most cases, before the scheduled performance kicks off. By looking online for Kevin Hart tickets, however, you are much more likely to find them at the industries cheapest prices! Many of the fans also try to sell things like Kevin Hart tickets for cheap as a result of their busy schedules leading them away from going through with their weekend plans, for example. It is also important to compare the ticket prices you find, as not every website can be trusted to offer the most affordable deals available (even though they claim they do).

Virginia Beach Vacations An Activity Guide For Everyone In the Family

Virginia Beach vacations are popular choices for tourists from all over the country, an area best known for its beautiful shoreline. However if someone in your group doesn’t like the beach, there are dozens of other attractions in the area that are sure to appeal to any taste.

Amusement Parks: Many people plan Virginia Beach vacations not to see the ocean but to go to nearby Busch Gardens, one of the nation’s most popular amusement parks. In addition to exciting roller coasters such as the Griffon and Apollo’s Chariot, it has a variety of attractions built around European themes. For those interested in a smaller park with less crowding, the Virginia Beach Amusement Park makes for a nice afternoon’s diversion.

Fishing: Even if you aren’t into basking on the beach, many visitors enjoy the bountiful ocean fishing opportunities here in one of the eastern seaboard’s most bountiful fishing grounds. You can fish off the Fishing Pier to catch mackerel, kingfish or trout. Or you can rent a boat to head out and do some serious angling for tuna or marlin.

Golf: Virginia Beach National is one of the premiere courses in the country designed by the legendary course architects Pete Dye and Curtis Strange. This is only one of several outstanding courses in the area ready for anyone from beginners to experienced pros.

Parks and Zoos: The Virginia Zoo is home to over 400 animals housed in natural habitats over a 53-acre park. The Norfolk Botanical Gardens offer a variety of attractions including a breathtaking rose garden, the Bristow Butterfly garden and a pair of nesting eagles who can be observed through telescopes. Mount Trashmore is a beautiful park that was originally a landfill but was redeveloped by the city and now has two lakes, many hiking trails, and a skate park that has been visited by many professional skateboarders including Tony Hawk.

Festivals: Not a month goes by that there isn’t a major festival in the area, and here are just a few of them. The Patriotic Festival celebrates the contributions of local military service people and is held in May or June. The Neptune Festival is a fall celebration of local culture. For the drinkers in the crowd there is the Beer Festival in April, the Wine Festival in May and the Brewfest in October.

Beaches: Even people who don’t like the typical tourist beach like the Virginia Beach strip might enjoy Chicks Beach, on the calm Chesapeake Bay. It’s less crowded without all the hustle bustle of the main beach and can be a part of relaxing vacations for people who want something less hectic than a public shoreline attraction.

This is just a tiny sampling of the activities available to anyone planning Virginia Beach vacations. Even if you aren’t a beach person, consider booking a trip to the area for the many other fine attractions in the area.

Things To Do Before Travelling Abroad

Getting everything done before heading off on a holiday can be difficult, but making sure your pre-travel list is completed will give you great peace of mind while on every single trip. Travel insurance, vaccinations, visas, and scanning documents can pile up on your ‘to-do’ post it notes, but all the little tasks done can really save you a lot of trouble while out on your adventures. This is especially true if you’re travelling outside of Europe or to places with special visa requirements.

This article has a six-item to-do list already set up for you to tick off. From booking your single trip travel insurance to checking your debit cards, you’ll find some helpful suggestions of things to get done before you get on the plane.

1. See your doctor

If you’re travelling outside of Europe, you might need to get vaccinations before you go, and in some cases, before you can even apply for a visa. It’s also not a bad idea to refill any prescription medication to last you through the duration of your travels.

2. Learn as much about your destination as possible

If you’re travelling to a place you know very little about, it’s a really good idea to read about the local customs and history before you leave. This will give context to many of the sites you’re seeing, and will provide insight into appropriate behaviours and attire.

3. Check in with your bank

Before you travel, check the expiry dates on your cards to make sure that they’ll last through the duration of your trip. It’s also not a bad idea to call your bank to let them know which countries you’ll be visiting, so no red flags go up which might led them to put a stop on your card when you need it.

4. Book Single Trip Travel Insurance

When travelling abroad, it’s a good idea to make sure you have single trip travel insurance to cover you in case of injury or loss of property. These policies are usually easy find and you can usually complete application forms online and just print out your proof of policy. Many countries require you to have cover before you can apply for a visa.

5. Scan your documents

Make a copy of your passport, insurance policy, card numbers, your ticket details, and any emergency contact information that you might need (including doctors, family members, and travel agent). Email these documents and this information to yourself, and also forward it to your family and friends.

6. Stock up your camera

Pack extra batteries; you don’t want your batteries to die on you when you’re just about to arrive at the Great Wall of China or Yosemite National Park. Remember you might not always have access to an outlet and pack extra memory cards as well, so you can snap photos to your heart’s content.

Galapagos Islands Snorkeling Activity

The Galapagos Islands are without question a top destination for divers since it is the second largest marine reserve worldwide.

The word “scuba dive” may sound scary; however, the marine landscape can be enjoyed in a different way: snorkeling.

Marine life in Galapagos

While snorkeling, the tourist is sure to see stingrays, sea turtles and an enormous variety of fish. For instance, stingrays are found close to sandy areas near the shore and sea turtles remain close to seaweed beds.

Reef fish including parrot fish, surgeonfish or colorful wrasses are also frequently seen in Galapagos.

In some cases, hammerhead sharks, penguins, an octopus, booby or sea lions can be encountered. Snorkelers in deeper waters may spot reef sharks, which is the most common specie in Galapagos.

Types of Snorkeling

Snorkeling may be a simple or a challenging experience. For beginners, off-the shore snorkeling is the easiest to perform because you can easily go back to the shore, the currents are not strong and the water is still warm.

Wall swims are used by intermediate snorkelers. These walls protect the snorkeler from currents and winds. And, you can get to see a wide variety of marine species. Some islands, such as Isabela and Genovesa, are excellent for snorkeling.

Deep-water rocks are isolated in the middle of the ocean and are perfect for fine swimmers. The more famous are Devils Crown, Turtle Rock and Kicker Rock. These submerged volcanoes are only reachable via Galapagos cruises or authorized boats.

These snorkelers get to see the greatest underwater species such as sharks, rays, eels, large fish and much more, but you have to be careful since the area has strong currents and the water is much cooler than the one close to the shore.

Galapagos Cruises rent snorkeling gear. This includes fins, mask, snorkel and wetsuits.

Sizes and quality vary depending on the Galapagos cruise you choose.

Masks must keep the water out and protect your nose

Fins are normally available from sizes 12 or 13. In case you have larger feet, it is best to bring your own.

Snorkel: make sure they allow you to breathe and keep water out.

Wetsuit in luxurious Galapagos cruises are of superior quality and well-maintained.

For those tourists who prefer to bring their own equipment, it is suggested to give it a try to avoid last-minute inconveniences.

It is also a good idea to be informed about the exact gear provided by the Galapagos cruise you choose.

Consult your travel guide before going snorkeling. Do not get into deep waters if you are not a very good swimmer. For photographers, underwater cameras are a must!

Enjoy the unbelievable marine life of Galapagos in one of the best ways possible: snorkeling.
